How can we donate eyes?
Eyes have to be removed within six hours of death. So, lose no time in informing the nearest eye bank. You could be instrumental in insuring an eye donation in time. If someone dies in your family or friend circle remember to call the nearest eye bank. This can be done irrespective of weather the deceased had pledged his/her eyes or not.
REMEMBER:
Donating eyes do not affect rebirth.
It leaves no scar/disfigurement on the face
Eye donation gives sight to two blind person as one blind person receives one donated eye.

HELP us by switching off fans, keeping air conditioner or cooler running and placing wet cotton with ice over the closed eyelids of the donor after death. It will help keep the tissue moist. Rise head with a pillow.
Eye bank personals with a doctor or trained technician will visit the donor’s home. This is done free.
10 cc of blood sample will be collected from the donor for testing
The eyes will be removed by a trained person using sterile procedure. It will leaves no scar or disfigurement on the face.
On reaching the eye bank, tissues will be examined where processed and used for corneal transplant operation as early as possible.
Needy patients will be conducted in accordance with the waiting list at the eye bank. Emergency cases are dealt keeping to the guidelines.
The donated eyes can never be bought or sold. Request for eye donation is always attended to.
The recipient of cornea will always remain anonymous but the donor family should be satisfied knowing that the eyes have been used to restore the vision of two blind persons.
